Get Seedy! Saturday is an annual seed swap and green fair for Seed Savers, keen growers and anyone aiming for a more sustainable lifestyle. It is an opportunity to share seeds, pick up some new and interesting varieties, exchange tips and experiences and find out more about local community groups and initiatives. Find out more about what a seed swap is all about >>

What's going on?

In addition to the Seed Swap, there will be stalls of exhibitors and traders with seeds, plants, produce and local crafts to browse and buy. The following traders, talks and activities are confirmed as of 24 February 2017. Download our programme and poster to spread the word:

Free children's art and craft sessions with Cam Valley Arts Trail

The local Cam Valley Arts Trail group will be hosting two fun and free art and craft activity sessions this year:

  • 10.30am - 12.00pm - Collage blackbirds
  • 12.30pm - 2.00pm - Paper crafts: making paper boxes and seed packets

The group will also be displaying some of their work and information about themselves.

Avon Wildlife Trust
Locally based environmental charity, dedicated to securing a sustainable future both for wildlife and people. It cares for 35 local nature reserves and a community food-growing site; organises interesting and enjoyable local events and volunteering opportunities; delivers exciting education programs; supports local land-owners; monitors local planning developments and carries out scientific research.

Bath Beekeepers
Bath Beekeepers promote the craft of beekeeping by offering members and prospective members an educational and social programme of branch activities throughout the year. A warm welcome is guaranteed to all. Come along and experience opening a hive - suits provided or watch from our viewing gallery.

Beans and Herbs
Specialising in Organic Seed of vegetables and herbs for home growers and allotment holders. Huge range of bean and herb seeds.

Cam Valley Arts Trail
Local artists and craftspeople that hold an annual local arts trail over the first full weekend in November. The aim of the group is to promote the arts and support local artists and craftspeople that live and work in and around the Cam Valley.

Cam Valley Wildlife Group
An independent local wildlife group actively involved in wildlife conservation and enjoyment, conducting a number of specific recording and conservation projects, plus holding events including talks, walks and trips.

Eco-logic Books
A small ethically run company that specialises in publishing and selling books that provide practical solutions to environmental problems.

Feed Bristol
Avon Wildlife Trust’s community food-growing project in Stapleton, Bristol, with
the aim of supporting a range of community groups and schools with different needs, promoting health, wellbeing and education through outdoor activities.

Incredible Edible Timsbury
A group to get people growing food on Timsbury's spare spaces, for all residents to enjoy.

Pennard Plants
Potatoes, potatoes, potatoes! We have 75 varieties of this great British staple. We sell these by the tuber at ‘Potato Days’ and put the potato into Seedy Saturday. We also have heritage vegetable and flower seeds, onion sets, rhubarb crowns and some unusual tubers to grow and eat. "Grow what you can't buy!"

Recycling and Composting Roadshow
Are you recycling everything you can from home? Do you love food but hate waste? Visit the B&NES waste and recycling roadshow at Seedy Saturday 2015 to find out how to make the most of your services, including how to recycle your unwanted or broken small electrical items and how you can keep your food fresher for longer.

Taste of Timsbury
A community marketplace for locally produced food, their first event is set to be held at the Conygre Hall later in 2016, for creative cooks, budding entrepreneurs, keen gardeners/allotment holders, or an existing local produce retailers.

Timmy’s Chillies© Marmalades and Jellies
Made by hand in small batches locally. Packed with 85% fresh fruit, they come in a range of flavours and heat strengths. Available at many good farm shops, delis and butchers in the region. “Fruity and delicious, with chilli on the finish.”

Hot and cold refreshments will be available throughout the day, including tea, coffee, soft drinks, bacon rolls, cake, biscuits and other treats.
